John Legere Shells out $1.33MM For NFT Live On Clubhouse

During a live Clubhouse call with 3LAU & SlimeSunday, John Legere shared his experience shelling out a record-breaking $1.33 million with a group of 1.5 thousand listeners. While not the most expensive NFT sale ever (that record was awarded just days ago for $67 million), this was the most expensive single NFT auctioned on Nifty Gateway so far.

The record breaking art auction marked yet another milestone in a series of auctions which have upended the face of the modern art industry.

John placed the order on a credit card versus a crypto wallet. This contrasts with the vast majority of purchases which have gone to crypto whales who have amassed life-changing wealth thanks to their early bets on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other digital currencies.

He also noted that this art would be given to his daughter Christina who was participating in the live conversation. Also present in the room was Rob Gronkowski who had his own NFT Drop ending a mere 20 minutes later.

Unfortunately for Gronk, his top auction was currently seeing a top bid just under $20,000. That said, he was auctioning off over 300 items making it difficult to a single item to attract a major bid.

The 3Lau x SlimeSunday auction ended less than 24 hours after the same duo sold over $4 million in another auction on Nifty Gateway. Mike Parisella, who goes by SlimeSunday, expressed his gratitude during the Clubhouse call, explaining that these auctions have been life changing for him.
